Be Bold! Spring Fashion Trend #1: COLOR!

Spring is just around the corner. My eyes are watery, my nose is running, and the sun is peeking out. Yup, sounds like spring, and I couldn’t be happier. I love spring fashion, and let me tell you why: it’s pretty!
New York Fashion Week is the ever-predictor/trendsetter of “what’s hot.” 2011 is all about an easy-breezy chicness. It’s a little boho, a little glam, a little feminine, and a LOT fun! But, as a girl on a budget, I will definitely be shopping my closet with just a few new (and cheap!!) pieces mixed in.

The first, and easiest one to discuss is...

COLOR!! One major theme that ran through all the designers was color. Yay, I’m so happy that color is back in. I’ve never been a slave to dark clothing, regardless of the season. But spring is definitely the time to break out the corals, the oranges, the electric blues, the pretty pinks, and the grass greens!

Of course, most of us probably won't be running to the nearest Barney's New York to run out and buy these beautiful sheaths. Here are a few more budget-friendly options:

Nordstrom, $108.00
Forever 21, $13.80

Of course, can't forget the accessories!
Sahare, Ships 3/8
Nine West, $170.00
Epoxy Open Teardrop Earrings
Charlotte Russe, $4.00
Ruffled Front Peep-Toe Bootie
Charlotte Russe, $40.00

  Forever 21, $11.80

If you're feeling extra bold, mix colors! Just because these dresses are bright doesn't mean that they can only be accompanied by a nude shoe and a black bag. A pop of color is always welcome! Add an electric yellow peep-toe pump to a cobalt blue dress. A bright pink dress with a green belt is oh-so-chic. Of course, add some simple glamour with metallics - a gold strappy sandal with a flowy orange dress is pure spring fashion heaven.

The important thing to remember with this trend: have fun! Don't worry too much about whether you're a "warm" or a "cool" or whatever. Who doesn't look good in coral?!

Show your true colors!!
